BOOK PROJECT

THE NINTH FLOOR

Jessica Dimmock began photographing a group of young heroin users living together in a Manhattan apartment while she was still a student. Over several years, she followed their lives through addiction, recovery, incarceration, love, and loss. The project evolved into The Ninth Floor, an intimate and unflinching portrait of dependency, friendship, and survival that helped establish Dimmock as an important emerging voice in documentary photography.

My Contribution: Mentorship, photo editing, sequencing, layout, and book development. I worked with Dimmock as the project evolved, helping shape the photographs and narrative from its early stages through the final book.
