BLOOD AND HONEY: A Balkan War Journal

Over a decade of conflict, Ron Haviv created one of the defining photographic records of the Balkan wars. His images bear witness to violence, displacement, and resilience, while several later became evidence before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. The book brings these photographs together as both an urgent record of history and an intimate account of the human cost of war.

My Contribution: Collaborative sorting, selecting, sequencing, shaping book development, and exhibition curation. Working closely with Haviv, I helped shape the photographs into a book whose sequence and visual progression strengthened its power as both testimony and historical record.

Additional Credits: Essays by Chuck Sudetic and David Rieff • Afterword by Bernard Kouchner • Published by TV Books and Umbrage Editions.
